We are pleased to announce the scholarship programs offered by the Taiwan Ministry of Education to Belgian and Luxembourgian students/citizens this year.
As before, there are two types of scholarships available. The first, known as the Taiwan Scholarship, is offered to students who wish to enroll in a degree program (Bachelor, Master or Ph.D.) in Taiwan.
Recipients will receive tuition and payment of academic fees, including credit fees, up to a maximum amount of NT$ 40,000 and a monthly stipend of NT$ 15,000 for a Bachelor program or NT$ 20,000 for a Master/Ph.D.
The Huayu Enrichment Scholarship is tailored for students who wish to focus exclusively on the study of Chinese. Recipients of this scholarship will be given a stipend totaling NT$ 25,000 per month for 2, 3, 6 or 9 months of study at a university-affiliated language center.
Please note that the 2-month scholarship is reserved for a Summer Course in either June-July or July-August, 2016. Applicants for both the Taiwan Scholarship and/or Huayu Enrichment Scholarship must also apply to the universities or language centers of their choice themselves; information related to all application procedures is attached to this letter.
Interested students must submit all required application documents to our office by March 31st, 2016.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce that the Education Division will be offering the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) in Brussels on April 30, 2016. This is an excellent way for learners of Chinese to give proof of their language skills when applying to the above mentioned scholarships or to potential employers. Further information regarding the TOCFL will be sent to you in the near future and will also be available on our website http://www.taiwanembassy.org/be.
